History of American Food - A Progress in Work

It is a cliche, but a real, United States is a nation of immigrants. A large part of the population of the country was not born within their borders, or have parents or grandparents who were not. So the story is bread and some other Indian dishes still a book is relatively short, with the exception of American Indian's cuisine.

However, it is not completely empty book. Let us consider an example particularly the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition exhibition in St. Louis, Mo.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the event was the world exhibition throughout the country. Wine people everywhere on the trains, trips on horseback and in vehicles (were 10 mph). Of course, they are hungry, while they were there, and had a range of grocery items available to satisfy their hunger.

There are so many foods, supposedly in the invented world exhibition. The Hot Dog is one, although it is well documented that the Germans ate a sandwich, which they called a "sausage dog" for years. However, it was the first time the majority of people in the audience had seen or tested.

The same goes for the tea, cotton candy and burgers. Actually none of these foods were invented at the fair, but it is fair, where he became the national consciousness. It is difficult to imagine a megalithic should its existence to "food fair" as a very modest companies such as McDonalds, but could be made as a case that is true.

Actually, a meal, invented at the fair was the ice cream cone. People were experimented with portable tank, but the Waffle Cone was sold for the first time publicly at the world's fair, and was an immediate success. A container of fuel, which does not want?

This is more than a hundred years. During the history of Europe food goes back centuries, is American history is written yet... but every day!!!
